ZZA’s evaluations learn from the range of building users. As bridgeheads between building design and user experience, Facilities Managers are important specialists. Given the complex design of the Scottish Parliament building, ZZA’s POE prioritised the FM perspective. Based on searching interviews with team members running the building and its services, the results showed the building’s fluent operation – including notable success in accommodating large numbers of visitors attracted by the signature architecture, and achieving a high bar in sustainable FM.
